Just think about the decades of research and development that led to that specific pattern.

There’s no airflow over that part. All the little dots influence the light pattern you get out of the light.
Aerodynamics are an entirely different type of witchcraft.

This is like...a thing.
Also HIDs are so last decade.

I only drive cars that have hetero function HIDs. It’s the way God intended.

This is on the 2016 Taurus I have this weekend. These are halogen projectors, I assume the bumps/dimples are there to “smooth out” any hot or cold spots in the beam.

I’ve noticed a lot of newer cars like to add little details into the headlights like that. Most newer GM cars have their respective brand logos somewhere in the front or rear lights.
I don’t know what brand really started this trend, but I like it.

I’m going to talk for a moment about a thing I hate in modern cars:
An abrupt cut off of the headlights so that the “top” of the projection is a straight line. It bounces all over the road and looks terrible. Plus it’s also pretty distracting.

Seriously. It is something that doesn’t have to be on a car, but when it is it just makes it seem so much more special

A lot of brands do that these days. Even my Mom’s Escape has its headlights branded with the Ford logo.

I don’t think my mom’s Fusion does. I’ll have to look tomorrow when I’m detailing it. I think I remember a few Lincolns with the logo in there.
